Tuesday, March 24, 2015
McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center is pleased to announce the date of their inaugural Shine A Light on Child Abuse Award Ceremony and Volunteer Recognition Event. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 14th in the Rosamond Gifford Room at the United Way of Central New York (518 James Street, Syracuse, New York). Light refreshments will be served at 4:30pm and the ceremony will begin at 5pm.
The William C. Towsley Award recognizes a true partner who has been a supporter of the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center and our mission, by their visible time, effort, and support. This year, we are pleased to present the 2015 William C. Towsley Award to David Wall.
The Catherine Senska-Haas Distinguished Service to Abused Children Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated exemplary qualities in the care, treatment, and investigation of child abuse. The 2015 Catherine Senska-Haas Award will be presented to Heather Douglass.
The Children’s Guardian Awards are presented annually to individuals who go above and beyond to protect children and help them reach their full potential. The 2015 Children’s Guardian Award recipients are Joy Yoffa (a social worker at Porter Elementary School), Antionette Singleton (a social worker at Dr. King Elementary School), and Jeff Seltzer (a social worker at McNamara Elementary School).
We will also use this opportunity to honor our many dedicated volunteers since the event falls during National Volunteer Appreciation week.
