Pinwheels for Prevention

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Every April McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center participates in Pinwheels for Prevention. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect, as well as to increase the community's ability to protect children through child abuse prevention and education.

Why pinwheels?

The pinwheel is a symbol of a happy, and healthy childhood. Our hope is that through the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign the greater Syracuse community will be filled with pinwheels.  Together we can work to build awareness of child abuse and fund the programs and services to provide resources for abused and neglected children and their families. Our hope is that the greater Syracuse community will be filled with pinwheels during April 2016.

How can I help?

We ask you to consider purchasing pinwheels from us and planting them outside your office building or displaying them in your lobby or throughout your workplace to show your support.  Over time, as people see these pinwheels, we hope that they will see a symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. Together we can work to build awareness of child abuse and fund the programs and services to provide resources for abused and neglected children and their families.
